Pilot training in Italy

During the months of January and February 2019, Associazione Formazione Professionale (AFP) del Patronato San Vincenzo (the Italian partner of Yarim project) led the pilot on some different Units of Yarim training. The training will be addressed to social mediators and youth workers and it will be useful to help them in going deep into some topics related to youth, faith, identity and plurality management. The pilot was organized in AFP spaces and it was led by two different trainers.

The contents presented were based on the training developed by Yarim: a module online course that will be published on July 2019. We discussed two different topics: by one side, we spoke about the group representation about different religions, the impact of this representation on daily life and the needs/problems related to that during their work. On the other side, we spoke about differences and similarities between the three most common monotheistic religions and some commonalities which could support the interreligious dialogue and inclusion.

We helped the dialogue using a card game, which help people to speak about their ideas.

Overall, there were around 10 participants in each session, and the feedback was very positive. One of the main highlights was that youth workers need more training on religious diversity and that they really love the card game.
